DRD Enterprises Inc of Davie has been a family owned small business in Florida since 1953.  For over 30 years DRD has provided earth moving heavy equipment offering equipment with operators, including draglines.  Always evolving, DRD Enterprises began constructing SafeDomes after witnessing the destruction caused by Hurricane Andrew in 1992.  From this event, David Pressler, a firefighter with MiamiDade County at the time and current president, recognized the need for affordable personal shelters.  Working under the command of former FEMA Director David Paulison, David gained the knowledge about preparing and surviving disasters. From this knowledge the SafeDome was developed. Today SafeDomes have been delivered to sites from Big Pine Key to Most recently The Department of Defense ordered 9 safedomes for the Army at Ft Sill, OK.
